Spring is back, and summer is fast approaching. This time of year sheds light on much needed exterior repairs. While bath and kitchen renovations provide a huge change, maintaining the exterior of your home remains imperative to your home’s longevity. Home exteriors come in a wide range of looks, from metal and vinyl siding to stucco and cedar cladding. Many older homes contain Masonite and similar cladding that begins to break down over the years. With the revolution of the industry, many updated products exist to replicate the look without sacrificing the quality. Exterior trim repairs cause much of our client’s anguish.
Cedar Replacement
Rotten cedar trim and frieze boards remain one of the main issues that we get called to address. Composite 1x trim provides a perfect replacement option in these circumstances. While the pattern doesn’t match true cedar exactly, it is close enough to make the upgrade worth it. Take a look at this bay window that we installed composite 1x trim on:

In addition to the composite trim, we replaced the old pressed stucco board with fibrous cement stucco panels to provide a long lasting finish. While the trim typically comes in white, it can be painted no different than cedar trim. Here are a couple of dormers that needed the same repairs:

None of these repairs are rocket science, but they are imperative to your home’s overall aesthetics and conservation. Spring provides the perfect time to tackle these projects before they become a bigger issue. Give A+ Home Improvements a call to help with your exterior projects today!
