Welcome back to another A+ Home Improvements’ project! Our next job entails a large kitchen renovation. As you will see in the pictures below, we were dealing with a unique space that provided both opportunity and obstacles. While the large space afforded different layout options, we needed a design that would incorporate both portions of the kitchen area. The tall vaulted ceilings added a unique twist to the space as well. We met with the client to go over product selection and layout details, and came up with the perfect plan of attack. Let’s take a look at what we started with:
Notice how the peninsula causes a weird separation between the spaces. Additionally, the area contained an abandoned fireplace that seemed out of place. To get the ball rolling, we tore out the cabinets and deleted the fireplace. The walls contained a heavy stucco-like texture that needed to go, so we stripped the walls down to studs as well. You can already start to see the difference:
You can already feel the difference in layout and how the room will be pulled together for this large kitchen renovation. We installed perfectly positioned recessed lighting to highlight the gorgeous new cabinets and quartz tops that we were installing. Our client opted for contrasting upper and lower cabinets that paired perfectly with the selected countertop color. For the backsplash, we installed a simple yet elegant subway tile. To utilize the small space at the left of the kitchen sink, our client selected floating shelves to add some accent. Speaking of accent, take a look at the pop of color provided by the different tile behind the stove and at the dry bar area. The large serving area, however, proved to be the crowning piece of this project. This large space provided an absolutely perfect spot for setting out a holiday spread! Let’s take a look:
Perfect!!
What a difference! All of the home owner’s selections worked perfectly. Look at the beautiful veining in the countertop! Not only did the cabinets and countertops look fantastic, but notice how the appliances pair perfectly with the color scheme. The new concept incorporated both rooms seamlessly. From start to finish, this project was a blast to work on. Are you ready to tackle a large kitchen renovation? Give us a call to go over your project today!
