Welcome back to another A++ Home Improvements’ project! Bathroom renovations remain one of our favorite projects, and our next client tasked us with updating a large bathroom. This project provided a unique situation – a bathroom that could be entered from multiple points, and needed to provide accessibility. The existing space included a sunk in tub- the tub was literally framed below floor level to allow you to step down into it. While a cool concept, it definitely provided a hazard for our client. In addition to the tub, the bathroom also consisted of two unused small showers. After going over options, we decided to delete the two showers and convert the existing tub location into a fabulous walk in shower. Take a look at what we started with:
Pretty unique, right?! The bathroom showed a lot of character, but also showed it’s age. Simply put, the space no longer functioned for our clients needs. We removed the tub and installed a walk in shower with some grand bars, a folding seat and an easy to clean Jet Coat surround. The surround chosen provided the elegant look of subway tile without the hassle of grout and tile maintenance. For the floor, we installed a waterproof luxury vinyl plank. Our client desired to keep the vanities, but absolutely hated the blue. We installed new vanity tops that provided a completely fresh, new look. Once we changed up the lighting and installed new fixtures, the bathroom was ready to use. Take a look:

AWESOME! Notice where the old blue shower used to be at the right of the double vanity? To maximize the space, we framed in a linen closet for all of our client’s storage needs. Also, the shower now provided a safe, easy to access space that the homeowner required. Updating a large bathroom provides challenges, but the end result is always worth it.
