Hey everybody, A+ Home Improvements is back at it again! For our next project, we tackled an extremely outdated tub enclosure and turned it into a hexagon tiled shower. Set in the 50’s-60’s, our clients bathroom desperately needed to be updated. They desired to remove the stained cast tub and dated tile in exchange for a sleek new tiled shower enclosure. After meeting our client for a consultation, we started helping with the product selection process. Once we completed selections and the material arrived, we began ripping out the old fixtures.

While “functional”, the old tub enclosure definitely left a lot to be desired. We removed the cast tub, tile wainscot and thick tiled floor. The house seemed to breathe a sigh of relief once we removed all of the weight. After modifying the plumbing to accept the new unit, the fun part of the renovation began! Our client opted to incorporate a hexagon tiled shower theme, and it pulled together perfectly. It is recommended to use a smaller tile for the shower pan to ensure proper slope is maintained for drainage purposes. Next, we installed a larger hexagon tile at the surround that provided an eye-popping shower! To pull the look together, we installed the shower pan tile as an accent in the rear of the niches. Our client loved the new look, and we enjoyed being a part of the project.
