As spring weather continues to return, A+ Home Improvements keeps gearing up for warm weather projects! Many of our homes contain either a failing retaining wall or deteriorating concrete of some sort. Our next client’s driveway definitely needed replaced, along with the wood timber retaining walls lining the left and right of the driveway. Since we were already doing concrete, they decided to replace the steps and the walk leading to the front porch as well. We made everything ugly before we could put it all back together again. Our client decided to install a block retaining wall instead of lumber this time around. The old retaining walls failed partially because of the lack of drainage behind them. For the new wall, we installed a drainage tile that exited near the driveway drain. Proper drainage remains a key fixture in any good retaining wall installation. We then poured the new driveway, steps and sidewalk to finish off the project. Take a look:
