Another week, another project! We wanted to showcase a change of pace. A+ Home Improvements is known for beautiful kitchen and bathroom projects, among other renovations, but our skill set extends to smaller custom projects as well. Our next client desired to install live edge floating shelves. We understood that the thick, natural shelving needed extra support, but we also didn’t want to have brackets exposed to detract from the beauty of the wood. We utilized a hidden hanging system that provided the needed support without being bulky and awkward. The results were awesome!
Talk about a sweet looking setup! Our client chose the perfect wood shelves to install, and the outcome was eye-catching. To preserve the natural beauty of the live edge floating shelves, we applied a low sheen polyurethane. Not only did we want to keep the natural look intact, we wanted to help keep the bark from delaminating. This is a project that, with a little patience, you could tackle at home with the right tools.
