Hey everybody, welcome back to another A+ Home Improvements’ project!! While we love tackling large kitchen and bathroom renovations, sometimes small renovations make a big difference. Our next client provided us with that exact opportunity. Many home owners plan projects based around a specific want. In this situation, our client suffered a roof leak that forced them to do some repairs. Instead of looking at the situation as a problem, they took it as an opportunity to do something cool! To provide some character, our client decided they wanted a shiplap ceiling. We went over the project scope with them, and proceeded to draw up a game plan. Here is a look at what we started with:
This skylight was situated over a hot tub, providing a unique space to soak away the stress of a long day. The new ceiling would add a unique look for the space. When planning a project like this that contains a vaulted ceiling, always be sure to install baffles before installing the insulation to ensure proper air flow. After repairing the drywall, we installed shiplap over the ceiling and matched it with shiplap in the skylight chase. Take a look:
