Welcome back to another A+ Home Improvements’ project!! As summer begins to wind down, home owners enthusiasm for outdoor projects remains strong. Our next client enjoyed using their pool, but desperately needed a better deck to access it. The existing structure had begun to show its age, and offered no route to access the pool. To save yard space, we opted to recess the steps into the deck footprint while enlarging the overall size. After drawing up the plans, we were ready to deliver the perfect pool deck. Let’s see what we started with:
Look at the gap between the existing deck and the pool – no good !! The pump location presented a small dilemma due to access, so we framed an elevated portion of the deck to allow access under it for the controls. To ensure safety, we installed a gate at the bottom of the steps complete with spring loaded hinges and a castor wheel to prevent sagging. The new pool deck checked off all of the boxes:
