Happy summer, everyone! A+ Home Improvements keeps rolling along with project after project. We tackle renovations both interior and exterior, and our next project entailed a front porch floor. Porches come in a number of designs, from deck-style structures to concrete slabs. This homeowner’s house contained an older version tongue and groove porch floor. While this style of porch provides a quaint feel, maintenance is important to keep it going strong. Unfortunately, this client’s porch floor began to show its age.
After years of wear and tear, it was time to give the porch some attention. Our client had previously had us replace the rear porch and deck, and now it was time to address the front. We removed the existing porch columns and tore off the old porch boards. Luckily, we found the framing to be in great shape – which saved our home owner from additional costs. We installed treated tongue and groove porch boards at the porch floor and new treated 2x treads at the steps. Once we set the porch columns, the space was ready to serve many more years of use.
While exterior projects sometimes sit on the back burner, it is important to keep up with them before they snowball into something more entailed. A+ Home Improvements is here to provide a helping hand with your home projects. From design to install, we strive to provide not only a great product, but a smooth experience as well.
