Our client desired to updated their old school master bathroom from top to bottom. The biggest change, however, was to replace a tub with a walk in shower. None of us are getting any younger, and they wanted to make their bathroom was as accommodating as possible for the future. You notice in the pictures below the dated look of the bathroom. While functional, our client desired to change the look since we had to remove portions of the bathroom anyway. We took a look at the layout and at our clients needs, and went to work coming up with the best course of action.
The entire bathroom screamed “Dated!” Our client met with our designer, and they picked out all of the styles and finishes that were perfect for them. For the shower, our client wanted an upscale look without the headache of maintaining tile. We decided to install a solid surface surround called Flexstone, and the results didn’t disappoint. We also updated the flooring with water proof vinyl plank. Last touch was changing out the other dated fixtures in the room.
Our client wanted options for their shower faucet setup, and decided to go the route in the pictures above. We installed a new faucet with integral stops, with a separate diverter valve to operate a handheld unit on a slide bar. This allowed out client to sit in the newly installed fold down seat while still having access to a shower faucet within arms reach. The flooring paired nicely with the new seat as well. Instead of dealing with the hassle of cleaning a shower door, we installed a curtain rod. One the paint went on the walls, the bathroom was ready to go.
