Welcome back to another A+ Home Improvements’ project! Our next project centers around a client we’ve had the pleasure of doing different jobs for. For this project, the homeowner wanted to add a basement bathroom. After meeting with them, we decided to utilize an empty closet area that worked perfectly. Since the area lacked utilities, we opted for a macerating toilet to allow us to pull it off. Macerating toilets allow the flexibility to install in places without having to cut out concrete and run new lines. Take a look at the space we started with:

While it doesn’t look like much, we saw the vision for the space. We worked with our client to select the perfect products, and laid out a floor plan that would work. The one downside to a macerating unit is the need to elevate the shower platform to accommodate the plumbing. We insulated and framed the exterior walls, installed a drop ceiling and added their new basement bathroom. Take a look:

To help create room, we raised the ceiling over the shower enclosure. Our client selected the perfect products to pull the room together, and you would no longer even recognize the room. If you desire a new bathroom but are limited with the utilities, these units may work for you. Whether it’s a basement or an attic, macerating units provide options for bathroom locations. Give us a call to go over your project details, and we’d be happy to help you figure it out. We look forward to hearing from you!
