Summer vibes surround us, and we love tackling exterior repairs in the beautiful sunshine. Our community has awoke from its winter slumber and have taken the party outside! Summertime brings the joy and laughter of family and friends handing out, grilling or taking a dip in the pool. To gear up for the summer fun, homeowners all over our area are sprucing up their back yards in anticipation of the awesome summer season. Decks remain a popular, prominent feature in many back yards. Unfortunately, sometimes you need to bring a deck back to life. Our next clients backyard contained a large deck, but years of wear and tear had begun to show. Take a look at what we started with:

The deck floor boards were beyond saving, so we ripped them off and inspected the framing. Aside from a few joists that needed replaced, the structure provided a sound surface to start with. This revelation saved our client thousands of dollars. To save on product waste, we installed our clients in a straight lay pattern as opposed to the diagonal pattern that existed previously. We also added hand rails and three gates to allow our client’s dog to roam on the deck without getting down without the homeowner’s knowledge. Take a look:

Talked about a completely new look! Our client now had a clean slate for decorating and staining to whatever look they desired. While the project was not cheap, saving the structure of the deck saved our clients a ton of money. With the project complete, out client geared up to enjoy the new space with their dog. When using treated lumbar, always remember to allow the wood to season before you stain it. Staining a deck prematurely will greatly shorten the coating’s lifespan. We completed the rebuild last year, and next week we will show you the results after it is stained. Whether you need to bring a deck back to life or simply start over with a new one, we remain your go-to contractor for the project. Give us a call to go over your options – we look forward to working with you!!
