Happy New Year Everybody!! A+ Home Improvements enjoyed a banner year last year, and we continue to tackle projects as the year rolls over. Our next client’s bathroom needed a major bathroom upgrade. Over the years, previous owners cobbled together products in an effort to make the space somewhat functional. As you can see, nothing about this bathroom was correct. The surround they installed didn’t fit, so they simply cut it down the middle. The floor joists contained rot and were sinking. To subsidize this, they installed some wood under the toilet to keep it from tipping over. Again, nothing about this bathroom was correct, so we worked with the client to come up with the perfect game plan to provide a functional, safe space. Take a look at what we started with:
Yikes!! No problem, though! Our team of installers was definitely up for the task. We started by gutting the room so we could accurately assess the extent of damage. We reframed the floor joists and added a beam in the basement to solidify the bathroom. Once we managed to install a stable substrate, we began the task of putting the bathroom back together. To create a better flow, we moved the vanity over to the right side of the toilet. This allowed us to install a shower enclosure without any impediments in front of it. The window served no practical purpose, so we deleted it and installed an exhaust fan to keep the moisture under control. We also installed a water proof vinyl plank flooring to provide years of excellent use and service. The transformation proved to be exactly what our client needed. Take a look:
