Welcome back to another A+ Home Improvement’s project! While we do not claim to be the only great remodeling company that exists, we do pride ourselves on providing quality service from the get-go. Our next client encountered a friend-of-a-friend situation, and it did not work out well. They now needed to replace an incorrectly installed surround. From the moment we showed up to see the project, the problems were obvious. Proper prep had been avoided completely, and the execution was even worse. They installed the tub improperly, and skipped the crucial water proofing steps for tile. Unfortunately for the client, we needed to tear it out and start over. Let’s take a look at what we started with:
We hate seeing other contractors taking advantage of home owners. Believe me, we understand that mistakes happen, but this was just irresponsible. We removed the tile and backer board and started fresh from the beginning. New cement backer board was installed and red guard applied. We installed a recessed niche to provide a great spot to store their products. The final result provided a night and day difference, and our client now had a tile surround that would stand the test of time.
