Welcome back everybody! Last week we showcased a client’s bathroom renovations, and as promised, this week consists of the kitchen renovation. A kitchen typcically represents a main gathering/living area within the home. Not a day goes by without a kitchen being utilized in some capacity of everyday fuctional life. It serves as a hub for our everyday busy lives. This existing kitchen space completely lacked functionality for this home owner. The current space lacked storage and left a lot of dead space to be filled. Limitless potential existed to work around. We worked tirelessly with our client to come up with the perfect layout, and then geared up to get to work. Take a look at what we started with:
This kitchen screamed DATED! The existing space consisted of a small row of cabinets with tons of other underused areas. The exterior wall with the windows provided the perfect spot to extend the cabinetry over. In addition to the exterior wall, we also wanted to fit in an island to make fully functional use of the floor plan. As you can see in the picture, the attached formal dining area contained a shower enclosure that helped the previous generation with accessibility issues. For this renovation, we deleted the shower and transformed the space back to its proper use. We also converted the existing closet space into a functional walk in pantry. Take a look:

Huge difference, right?! Talk about a monumental transformation. We removed the staple up ceiling and added LED lighting to brighten the new kitchen. We also installed a pop-up outlet in the island for quick access to power. The waterproof luxury vinyl plank provided the final piece of the puzzle.
