Home owners have back yards that range greatly in size and style. Regardless of what your yard looks like, betting odds say that it contains a deck or patio. Decks, if constructed properly, provide years of enjoyment. However, they eventually begin to show their age and become in need of repair or replacement. Our client needed their deck rebuilt. While they enjoyed the general size and layout of the deck, it had become unmanageable. As you can see in the pictures, the deck was on its last legs.
Our client desired to rebuild the deck from scratch. Since we were starting from the ground up, they decided to add a little square footage to it while we were at it. They contact the Home Owner’s Association for approval, and we went to work on the plans for replacement. Remember, if you belong to a Home Owner’s Association, it is imperative that you submit the plans before work commences. This will save you from any headaches down the road if they find out and decide that your new layout is not approved.
As you can see, we did not alter the layout much. We just extended the deck into the back yard a few feet to take the place of the flower bed. The result definitely looked better than the old deck, and our client couldn’t wait to put it to use.
